(special thanks to Tali'Zorah vas Normandy for taking the time to contribute to this thread)
Fallout: Equestria is one of the most ambitious projects that this forum has ever undertaken. Never before have so many come together to revile so lengthy and beloved a fanfic. Never before have so many voices been necessary to break it down and expose it for what it is: mediocrity, incarnate. But never before have we faced a fanfic such as this.
(special thanks to Admiral Steven Hackett for delivering the speech I just plagiarized)
More than a few members of this forum, who have been excluded from participation, have requested the opportunity to mock a part of Fallout: Equestria. After much debate with Shmeckie (in which I asked politely, and he called me a motherfucking pussy-ass faggot brony piece of shit, and I burned his house down in retaliation, this is why he hasn't released an episode of KUSO! in like six months, also hey Kkat, aren't obnoxious run-on parenthetical statements just the funnest thing ever?!), he agreed to open an audition for participation in Fallout: Equestria.
As long as I do all the legwork for it.
Fffffffffuck.
Anyway, so I'm sure that you have many, many questions. In fact, I know that you do. I have foreseen them. Here they are.
How do I audition?
It's easy! Just state your desire to audition in this thread.
Easy as that?
Easy as that.
But what does the audition entail?
Oh, well, that part's a little trickier. See, after you've declared your intention to participate in the mock, I will send you a PM containing your Official Project AFTER Audition Kit.
Which is?
A sample for you to mock.
A sample? Like, a chapter of Fallout: Equestria? Or another story?
The sample is unique to each individual. But no, odds are it will not be from Fallout: Equestria.
Why not?
A couple of reasons. First off, if it's a chapter that someone else has already mocked, you could look to them for inspiration and ideas, and I want your mock to be one hundred percent fresh. Second, if it's a chapter that nobody has mocked, then...shut up! I don't need to explain myself to you!
Okay, okay, geez. How do you want me to format the mock?
The most popular style seems to be "original text plain, mock text bold." However, "original text bold/red, mock text plain" seems popular too, it being the Boss's style. In any event, as long as it's legible, and I can clearly differentiate between your material and the story, I don't really care. Just don't make the text something that clashes with the forum's color scheme. If it's hard to read, I probably won't enjoy it.
And do we post them in the forums?
No. You send them to me, formatted properly, in a private message, and I judge them.
You judge them yourself? Alone? Won't your personal bias influence your perception of each mock's quality?
Nice try, TentacleGrape.
When will we hear back from you?
Whenever I get around to reading everybody's submissions. Don't worry, I promise not to drag my feet on this too much.
"Too much?"
I can hurt you, you know.
If you have any additional questions, feel free to ask them. The audition is open until this Monday, so that I don't get overwhelmed with submissions. And don't worry; if you don't get picked now, the audition will open up again at some point in the future, so you'll have a second chance.
This is an opportunity to work tail-twined-with-tail with a great number of people, on a collaborative effort of some significance to this forum. Don't pass this up, people!
