Damnation, the premise sounds retarded and the art looks like the same style as that horrid Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi show. We have one image and two sentences worth of info and this already looks disturbingly bad. It is from GAINAX, though, so prepare to have every in-crowd anime fan on the internet calling it the best thing since samurais and tentacle rape once in hits.

Yeah, the Gurren Lagann guys being involved was the only thing that caught my attention.

Nothing about that show indicates to me that it's any better than GAINAX's usual fanservice-laden, awkward children-riddled, mindfuck ending-stained shitfests. I don't care how many shirtless guys with goofy shades ramble on about manliness.

Well, in it's defense, the awkward child does grow out of it, and the ending isn't nearly as depressing or as confusing as Evangelion, but there is plenty of fanservice and I just got the impression while watching it that you wouldn't like it.

Well, the first half of Gurren Lagann is good. I'm not a huge fan of the post-timeskip episodes, besides the final battle.

That anime always looked kinda dumb to me. What little I've seen of it reminded me of Fooly Cooly.

Unless it's a comedy, I could go on with how stupid the very idea of throwing galaxies is, from both a physical and storytelling standpoint. Even Dragonball never got that ridiculous.

Fuck, beat me to it. Yeah, just look at Bulma's family. Hell, every significant character in the Dragon Ball's universe's name is a pun and some of the characters themselves are parodies of other things, like General Blue (pretty much a gay Aryan) or the Ginyu Force (sentai).

If you are looking for seriousness in Gurren Lagann you are fucking crazy. The anime was about a boy who uses a robot that is seemingly powered by imagination and will. These physics defying robots go into the world of absurd and then some. The anime consistently produced a you can do it theme, and was a blast to watch.

As for bitching about fanservice for fucksake you liked Code Geass. Let me state Geass was one of the best animes I have ever seen. That being said the stupid fanservice moments if I counted them all fucking rival Gurren Lagann if not surpass it. Fanservice and anime go hand and hand. Its more so your willingness to overlook it.

Also I think Shmeckie would purely hate it because he wants to. Not because of any fault of the anime's what so ever.

I was gonna bring it up, but Shmeckie has complained about the fanservice in Code Geass multiple times and I can tell just by looking at that other show that Code Geass is completely different from it.

As for the physics defying robots... That can be said for pretty much any mech anime.

The art style almost looks like a parody of all the American cartoons that try to look like anime. As a matter of fact, I'd say this series might actually BE a parody of American cartoons.

Not a terrible concept, honestly, but the execution looks pretty awful. All I got from that trailer was LOL ZANY WACKY CRAZY STUFF HAPPENING SO FAST ZOMFG NO WAAAAAAY!!! If the series itself is anything like that, then I'll be avoiding this as if watching it gave people cancer.
