Toonami helped make anime semi-mainstream here in the west in the first place. We were getting bombarded by good shit from Toonami back in the day. Dragonball, Tenchi, Outlaw Star, you name it. Toonami did indeed air Cardcaptors. I still remember the gravelly, masculine voice of Peter Cullen advertising the hell out of it.
Too bad the show sucked. I tried my best to get interested in it, but it just never caught on. Supposedly there was a dub that made Lee the main character and pretended Sakura was just a side character.
To be honest, I never actually saw that one I think because as I recall Sakura was front and center in every episode. So I was a bit confused at that claim.
