I rocked the shit out of Twisted Metal 2 back in the day.
Tried the demo. While I found it to be smooth and tight as hell in action, I just cannot get a grip on the controls for the life of me. Maybe I should consider picking up a racing game or two once in a while. -------------------- QUOTE (Shmeckie @ Sep 25 2011, 09:32 PM) "La forme est bien, je veux juste que le résultat soit ... très chouette. Feb 1 2012, 10:19 PMI keep hearing that the new controls are a pain in the ass. The controls are fine for me. My problem is that the single player mode included in the demo is a challenge mode in which all the other cars are ganging up on you. Once I got online, things got easier because players were focused on each other instead of just me. Most likely the full game will have more free-for-alls in single player. -------------------- "Just because things won't go your way doesn't mean you can't live a poor and meaningless life" - Dakari-King Mykan

If there's one good thing coming up, it's that the soundtrack sounds great. Then again the Twisted Metal games (even the bad ones) always had good music.

Still tried to get used to the controls but yeah, I did have quite a bit of fun with the multiplayer demo on the PSN, won a couple of games using Darkside. Definitely giving this a rental tomorrow. -------------------- QUOTE (Shmeckie @ Sep 25 2011, 09:32 PM) "La forme est bien, je veux juste que le résultat soit ... très chouette. I just got the rental am enjoying it so far (I'm on the third level) although you have no choice in what order you want to play the three main characters and there's only one ending each. Other than that, while this version of Calypso is the most attractive, he's also the most boring. Maybe it's just the actor or that I've been spoiled by Mel McMurrin's performance (actually I say it's the former).
One thing I find interesting is that you can pre-select three cars that you will use that are kept in a garage and you can switch between them in the match which is a neat idea (if you can get to them in time) and there's neat new obstacles like the players having to stay in a moving "cage" or lose health (which is also annoying.) So far, it's not too bad. This post has been edited by Yaoi Huntress Earth: Feb 14 2012, 10:58 PM -------------------- |

The makers are releasing the alternate unfinished endings for the characters. It's a shame they didn't use these Dollface endings because they were better thought out and change my mind on this version Calypso. Maybe because he gets more screen time and really shows what he's capable of.

I'd say the "Complete Asshole Extraordinaire" endings were better. How else was he supposed to be conveyed as the Beast if he didn't have strong catches to all of the wishes?

May 2 2012, 03:34 AMI'd say the "Complete Asshole Extraordinaire" endings were better. How else was he supposed to be conveyed as the Beast if he didn't have strong catches to all of the wishes? I disagree... The first one: Granted Krista pretty much screwed herself over so that pretty much is a catch. It is in character for her given her paranoia and perfectionism. Calypso probably knew this was going to happen and would just sit back and enjoy because she'll do all the work for him. The second one: It's a great nod to TM2's version of Krista Sparks and the relationship she has with Calypso. But he does get to show his beastliness in other great ways. The third one: This one has a screw-over wish since she got what she wanted but got something worse instead. -------------------- |

Still though, the game's designed with over-the-top violence in mind. -------------------- ![]() QUOTE (Al_Cone) I don't think you thought this one through, Machinavelli. |

May 10 2012, 03:59 PMThe first one: Calypso is just so wonderfully dickish at the end. The second one: Too predictable. I would've preferred it if the dad was in one piece, but when he realizes all the lives his son destroyed to appease this guilt instead of going on with his life, he walks out on him. He gets his father back, but the cost is losing his respect/love. -------------------- |

I know I'm digging up an older post, but they finally released the last of the unused endings and I thought I'd post them up.
First Ending: I admit that this is a weird one, but amusing. Second Ending: In a way I can see it being a homage to Twisted Metal Black where Calypso will not screw you over if your wish in malevolent. -------------------- |
