Oh, it gets a lot of shit past the radar...

QUOTE
Doctor: Okay, let's get those pants off.
Dan: Um... I'm here about my face being all scratched.
Doctor: (chuckles) Oh, don't worry. I'm not a doctor.

And also the running gag about his Grandma, neatly catagorized by the freaks over at TVTropes!

QUOTE
Early in the series, we see Dan yelling at his grandmother on the phone as well as "some explicit letters made out to someone named 'Grandma'". Later in "Traffic", while Dan is stuck in traffic, he outloud states "Why did that funeral have to take so long!". Later in "The Beach", when Dan is thought to have been stranded and will die, he points up and shouts, "Well here I come Grandma! You jerk!"

EDIT: HOW DID I NOT CATCH THAT CHRIS IS PLAYED BY DAVE FOLEY?! AS IN "KIDS IN THE HALL" DAVE FOLEY?!

So there's this cartoon that plays on the Hub every now and again. It's really, really good. Yeah, it's obviously done in Flash, but there's still real effort put into it regardless. It has clever writing, interesting characters, and a simple, yet entertaining premise.

My God, how is it that My Little Pony gets memespammed to death, yet I've never heard of Dan Vs. until now?! THIS is the show people should be excited about! I've watched the first six episodes and it has been nothing but a laugh-riot. Especially the Canada-episode. Holy shit.

Other than 2-1-5, anyone else enjoy the little piece of mayhem known as 1,000 Ways to Die? Although there are a few that had bad luck, but a lot of the show is about karmatic justice and has the always awesome Ron Pearlman in it.

Speaking of Dan Vs. and ponies...

Or should I say, Dan Vs. Ponies...

Yes, those are real commercials.

Those are amazing. I'll definitely look up that show sometime.

As for something else, I've been watching more of the Discovery channel recently. I'm glad to see that Mythbusters is still around.

Got to watch two episodes of Dan vs. during my break today.
Well, what is there to say beside, that is actually a pretty funny show. Watched the episode with the Steve Jobs parody and laughed my ass off at the implied masturbation joke.

Double Post because after Shmeckie recommended Dan vs. from the Hub as a show I decided to take a look at another show of the Hub that got a bit of praise over the internet.
I am talking about Transformers Prime, the latest installment and "reboot" in the Transformer franchise, that builds itself up on a videogame from last year, that got surprisingly good ratings according to what I read.

Well, to the show itself. The show is set on earth where the Autobots -Bulkhead, Ratchet, Bumblebee, Optimus and as far as it goes my personal favorite, an action female autobot called Arcee- live after the destruction of Cybertron now for three years, hiding form mankind but at the same time having an eye open for the potential appearing of the Decepticons, who according to what I got together, want to make earth their new base and are on the wait of their master Megatron in the beginning (admit, I only saw a few episodes so far)
As for human characters, yeah there are three kids but I have to get to them later on.
My first impression on the show so far -based on the last three episodes and the first two of the show- is actually rather good.
To give an insight: In the very first ten minutes of the show, Starscream -who is more cunning than usual- kills a sixth Autobot by stabbing it in the heart on camera and ressurects him as a sort of transformer zombie during the second episode. So yeah, unlike other shows on that channel, here we actually get to see character death and actual drama.
The fact that there are also a few three parters during the show in order to build up suspense seems to help a lot. Voice acting is top nutch in regard of the bots (Cullen and Welker themselves voice their famous characters) and the computer animation... well, I admit it is not perfect here and there but it is not bad. You can distinguish the characters perfectly from each other and the action scenes are also good enough done. As for the action, there actually is a lot to see. Especially in the final story arc "One shall rise" where... well, let`s just say fans of the old Transformer series will cheer to see one of the most evil beings in the franchise return.

Generally, as someone who actually did not grow up with the original show, but read a lot of it and the characters, I am quiet impressed so far. This is a really good action "cartoon" with a fantastic character rooster, especially in regard of the villains.

I caught up on Burn Notice to the start of the fifth season. Holy shit, I'd forgotten how much I love this show! Though I do wish Gilroy could've lasted a bit longer. He was awesome. Still, I like how ironic his death is.

I'm going to take advantage of this brief respite from that other thread to try and resuscitate this one.

I've been hooked on Dexter lately. The main character is deliciously sinister in his darker moments, and it's equally as entertaining watching him develop whole new human traits (or as close as he can get them, anyway). Both the supporting cast and the villains are all top-notch as well.

I recently started the fourth season, and holy shit does the pace pick up. Like, during the last three seasons, things would be happening at a brisk but otherwise controlled tempo, but suddenly all sorts of shit just start firing at you left and right during the start of season four. It's not bad, but it definitely threw me off a little bit.

Game of Thrones. It is just amazing and all the plot twists and interesting and downright evil characters, an amazing soundtrack, and a bunch of other kickass stuff. Fuck yeah Game of Thrones. Just. Fuck yeah.

I recommend checking out season 5 if you haven't already. The main villain behind everything in the series makes his appearance. And he is glorious.

Ah, I watched it on TV, actually. And yes, yes he is. Man, Anson is one clever, slippery motherfucker. The moments when it's revealed he killed Michael's father and his intent is to rebuild the organization had me totally winded.

Also, I wonder if Management will reappear in the sixth season. It was mentioned that nearly everyone in the organization was either dead or arrested, but that guy seems like he'd have enough resources to slip away.

On an unrelated note, the surname of the actor playing the main villain is extremely fitting.

I would hope Management comes back; being taken out off-screen seems like a bitch-made way to go for the co-founder of The Organization.

Joy Luck Club/ Fight Club double feature. You don't even have to ask which is my favorite of the two. Joy Luck, obviously.
