What?

Edit:

Oh you said Satan and not Santa...

Also Auto-Block fucks up a lot of stuff. Cross ups and the high low game get butt fucked.

Bitching about the GEMS is dumb, and kind of counter productive to exploring what is actually one of the niftier features of the game.

I mean, I use the auto-block gem for Guile, mostly because A) I'm not that good at dealing with cross-ups no matter how hard I try, and B) Despite having good anti-airs, Guile never really has had the best tools for dealing with cross-ups anyway.

Besides, its costs a bar of meter to activate anyway to there is fair trade-off.

I don't think this game will ever have a meaningful tier list. Every other day someone is amazing. The only thing that really glaringly stand out is that Paul and Yoshimitsu have issues.

Everyone else is really useable. A lot of it is pairing base. For a quick example Ken is a great lead because he has the shoto-strengths (footises, range, anti-air) and then tagging in with him off SRK or Tatsu is easy. Though I think Ken isn't nearly as good if he is paired with a battery. Like Rolento Ken or Ken Rolento is a terrible idea. Ken and a hard hitter? Fucking brilliant.

Also my experimentation with Ken Raven made me sad. Overall its really who you pick and how you play instead of just being forced into playing one way ala SF4.

Anyone else feel the same?

Anyone watch NCR '12? It was fucking amazing. It was pretty cool to see so many different characters in finals. It was taken by a Ryu/Rolento team. Second was Xaiyou/Howrang. Third was Jin/Rufus. The other notable teams were Rufus/Kazuya, Zangief/Hugo, Sagat/Zangeif, Juri/Rufus, and Julia/King.

Really pretty diverse for a major one month after the game was out. I feel like Ryu/Rolento was great moreso by the player using them than the characters themselves. A lot of what was happening that match was really effective uses of tagging. I don't think that guy stuck with one character for more than 15 seconds at a time. You might wonder why is this great? Well by tagging out and tagging in you regain health. It is possible to have 180% health during a match if you are effectively using tags.

This also means I might have to admit I was wrong about Rolento at some point. His damage is meh, but, he easily sets up safe tag-ins on block. Which while not super damaging to tag in from (he does way too many hits for his own good), does give him a chance to recoup health. 180% life Rolento is scary... Though not convinced Rolento and Ken are the only ones with amazing tags. Just the easiest ones to see...

Yoshinori Ono stepping down as the man in charge of the SF series.

He did drop a couple subtle hints about how strenuous his work had been as of late between SF X T development and the PR events in a few interviews.

Sounds like the man is finally going to take a long overdue vacation.

Despite the shitty things Capcom does, I really like Ono. He's got a good sense of humor and always has fun interviews/promos.

Gotta say, Ono is a fucking class act. He's been personally responding to virtually everything people have said to him on Twitter since the announcement he's stepping down. Both positive and negative. And he's been friendly and jovial with every comment.

Well considering there is another 24 colors waiting in the winds, and like another 30ish gems I'll wait til I pass judgment on the Capcom.

The costume DLC sounds reasonable, given that all I need is to buy the costumes for characters that I actually want/use.

And the characters are actually being released today? I was under the impression they wouldn't be out until much much later

Oh what the hell event hubs?

Apparently I was wrong. So far all that has been released on dlc is the new combo presets and color packs for free and the swapped costumes for $1 each ($13 for all the costumes for the Street Fighter or Tekken sides) So techincally 26 bucks for all the costumes

I guess event hubs was wrong I guess? The characters are apparently still only 20 bucks but apparently they aren't being released today...

Xbox users have the dlc already available to them. Playstation should get theirs by the end of the day

And the debate rages on. Mass people are actually reporting Capcom to the Better Business Bureau in order to get the characters for free

EDIT: Oh, and another download will be available next week which will fix the sound issues and make selecting gems easier

This is a horribly written article and I want to smack whoever wrote it. That said, I think the story itself is pretty amusing. Capcom has resorted to arguing over semantics (how the hell can a press fact sheet NOT count as advertising?) in order to cover their asses and tried to placate the person who issued the complaint with a 30% off coupon for their online store. That's honestly funny to me.

I'm not even sure who I want to root for at this point. On the one hand, trying to get a company in trouble with the Better Business Bureau because you think they're charging too much for expansion content for a video game is absolutely insane. I never thought the fans would get butthurt enough to take things that far. On the other side of the coin, though, Capcom has pulled SO much shit on their customers for so long now that I'm kind of glad they're the ones getting dicked over for a change. It's probably a long shot, but I'm hoping that other game developers will see this and rethink their plans to sell games with half the content locked away behind a second price tag.

The 360 local co-op is a legit fight. That one does deserve the BBB. I am torn on how I feel about on-disc locked content. I understand the software licensing part. I also understand why it pisses everyone off...

New online patch is out. Internet is bitching about lag. I played about ten games (won 7 woot) and I only experience lag in one match which had a single bar connection. Sound works great now. Love it.

If you're concerned about locked content, you should look at today's Atari.
