Last week, I made the painful decision to keep this game in the box until finals were over; I simply won't have the time to dive into the game properly until the semester is over, and only playing it for an hour or so at a time a few days a week seems like I'd just be teasing myself.
I have, however, been enjoying the King of Soundtracks album I got with the game. That is one hell of a robust collection of bangin' tracks. I'm even enjoying listening to themes from games I've already played, since I realized that I've never listened to a lot of them all the way through. For example, An Improved Concerto from KOFXI—I always thought that one was kind of weak as far as KOF boss themes go. It really picks up after the lengthy intro, though; I'd just never paid much attention to the music after that point since I was always so focused on dealing with Magaki's bullshit in the game. They even included the small handful of good themes from XII. Listening to Matryoshka Dance again makes me sad the Russia stage didn't make it into XIII... -------------------- ![]() You needn't worry about anything. It's missing Trash Head, but that's just my Goenitz bias talking. I still love every single Orochi character theme, and It's impossible for me to pick a favorite.
XIII's AOF team theme is probably my favorite of all of them, same with the Kim team from XIII. I'm iffy on the new Arashi no Saxophone and ESAKA. This post has been edited by Soba: Dec 5 2011, 09:54 PM -------------------- |

Odd, I found 13's AOF theme to be the most boring. Now Each Promise, THAT'S a motherfucker of a theme!
Still perplexed the soundtrack CD doesn't have Trash Head, though... -------------------- |

Eh, I kinda like the mellow acoustics and japanese sounding ethnicity to it, but After a Long Absence is good too. And everyone likes Each Promise. Trash Head is great, and Goenitz is responsible for everything that happened in the Orochi saga. You'd think they'd give him some love.

Went about 8-8 with Shmeckie earlier, pretty good considering I haven't picked up the game in a few days, its just to be able to actually play a versus game without some online connection dongcarting (which unfortunately is a household issue beyond my power to fix).
I learned that the Psycho Soldier characters a pretty fun. I learned that I really don't like Ryo gameplay wise. I learned why Shmeckie goes gaga over King. and we both learned a little something with Daimon. Didn't we? :3 This post has been edited by Tonfa: Dec 10 2011, 07:42 PM -------------------- QUOTE (Shmeckie @ Sep 25 2011, 09:32 PM) "La forme est bien, je veux juste que le résultat soit ... très chouette. So guess who decided that he loves the fuck out of Kensou?
HINT: I DID! Really, Kensou is fantastic. He's fast as shit, his BnBs are super simple yet really effective, and overall its like he has a great combination of zoning and rushdown game, its like combining the best of Guile with the best of Fei Long! One of my favorite things to do is throw out a LP-Fireball then follow up with that dashing command grab which, by the way, will get you even out of a roll! -------------------- QUOTE (Shmeckie @ Sep 25 2011, 09:32 PM) "La forme est bien, je veux juste que le résultat soit ... très chouette. Robert and Kensou are now official members of team Tonfa.
Kensou can be really hard to get around once he gets going, especially if you're playing as Maxima (I think he might actually be a bad matchup for Maxima). And Robert's NEOMAX is so very wonderful, it looks like an air-to-ground only kind of special, but no, as long as he's close enough, in the right position, and your opponent ain't blocking, that whole vertical space belongs to him! Damaging as fuck if it lands right too. I swear to God I'm going to start playing this game eventually. I just can't bring myself to take the Arkham City disc out of my 360 right now.
For those of you who are enjoying XIII, I found a handy list of command input shortcuts you might find useful:

I think this thread can use a nice, hearty bump.
I've been messing around with some characters lately and I've jumped on the King bandwagon. So so so much fun. Flameless Iori is growing on me as well, and his NeoMax is actually pretty handy as a standalone attack. -------------------- |

The King of Fighters XIII: Climax has been announced for Japanese arcades. The game looks like an updated version of XIII that will include all the characters added to the console version (including the three DLC characters) plus some balance changes mostly centered around fixing exploits and glitches. Unfortunately, SNKP hasn't mentioned any brand new content for this version, nor have they confirmed any additional updates for the home version (although another balance patch to bring the two versions inline with each other is a strong possibility).
If the name of the new subtitle is any indication, it would seem SNKP is officially done with this iteration of KOF. So much for Adelheid... -------------------- ![]() You needn't worry about anything.
