Yes, it's true! For the first time in what feels like ages, Project AFTER has been updated. Check out the main page and see for yourselves. I must admit, I'm very curious as to how everybody will react to this one... I have a feeling as though I'll either be moved to tears by both the maturity and undying dedication shown by my loyal readers, or be thrown about like a CGI cow in an impossibly huge tornado in what will later be known as Shitstorm '08.

Also, in case anybody missed the links in the news update, I recently wrote some guest content for a couple of very fine websites that some of you might want to check out at some point.

This is great news! Project AFTER's second coming is going to be the greatest comeback since Michael Jordan returned to the NBA as a member of the Washington Wizards! I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of changes the re-launch is going to have.

I'm used to not seeing anything from you for very long periods of time, so this doesn't really bother me. I'm just glad that this website will be better.

So, when you finally do get around to doing this, do plan on adding new features and possibly giving the website a new look?

Excellent work MOA, brilliant! Also, I like the new avatar.

Edit: I just had a thought. Maybe it would geta bit more publicity if you put some of the best ones submitted every so often on the main pages as well. Just an idea really, its all still your choice.

Glory glory HALLELUJIAH!

Ah, it's a good way to start the day. Gonna be a good day indeed!

I just hope this "site relaunch" doesn't involve another wait for a site layout...

Whew, glad this news has been so well-received. I was kind of worried for a little while, there. I should never have doubted you guys. wub.gif

Definitely. In fact, the main reason I want to go ahead with a full-scale rework of the entire site is because there are a variety of features and design elements I would like to implement, but can't because of the limitations of the site's current layout. I have ideas for a number of new features and a couple new subcategories for new content, and I'm currently thinking about possibilities for a new visual theme (which will also result in a new matching motif for the forums at some point).

Right now I don't have any plans to add anything to the site content-wise until after the re-launch is underway. That may change depending on how smoothly things go and how long this whole project ends up taking, but for now I don't want to slow things down any by having to split my focus to adding more stuff to the existing site which will just have to be reformatted at some point anyway. However, one thing I'm planning for the new site is a much more prominent focus on reader-submitted content, so a lot more guest fanfiction mockeries will be making it onto the website in the future.

Awesome! I look forward to seeing the new look, one day in the dark and distant future, and I'm glad you decided to turn this disaster into a positive. Oh, and also, thanks for the free plug. Sucker biggrin.gif

I've been thinking: If the PA game project we have going ever gets off the ground, it'll need it's own site. Perhaps the site redesign, if it's done in a timely manner, could coincide with the creation of a site for the game, or at least a page.

That's what I was asking for, thanks for the answer. I'm looking foreward to submit content and help out.

Well, we'll see if that game ever actually gets made... I think you guys might be somewhat underestimating how difficult it is to create a fully-functioning computer game, even if you're using software that already has a pre-built engine. And while I think it's a neat community project, honestly, I'm not going to publicly endorse the finished game unless it's really good. As in almost professional quality. I don't want to crush anybody's hopes for the project, and I certainly think it's a possibility that you guys could come up with something really awesome, but I don't want to make any promises at this point when the game has yet to progress beyond the concept phase.

I think that's completely fair, and I kind of expected an answer like that. I don't expect the thing to get anywhere near done for a really really long time, but I do have high hopes for it, especially now that Shmeckie is helping out. Anyway, like I said earlier, it's great that the site's coming back. Project AFTER lives!
