Until teenage boys stop buying games for the promise of jiggly 3D boobies. Hence the tagline "eternally retold."

Also, I still hold out hope the franchise will see some kind of renaissance. -------------------- |

Is now really the best time to announce another fighting game, Namco? The market is completely saturated with new titles in the genre as it is, plus you've already got three other A-list fighters scheduled for release between now and the end of next year.
Personally, I can't even fake interest in this one. The last two Soul Calibur games left such a bitter taste in my mouth that I feel like brushing my teeth whenever someone mentions the franchise. It isn't like I have nothing else to look forward to when it comes to upcoming fighting games, either. I'll give this a chance if enough people play it and swear that it's totally amazing, but until then, the SC series is dead to me. -------------------- ![]() You needn't worry about anything. I'm reluctant to buy this one. I' a HUGE SC fan, but I've also only played up until SC 3, in fear that 4 would ruin the series for me, so I'm reluctant to buy 5 for...well, the same reason as 4. Should I stay in my happy world, where Tira wasn't Harly Quinn once, And the Kilik/Xangua romance was only an optional cutscene, ot should I venture out, where Star Wars is a shameless cash-in and Ivy's Boobs have grown from cantalopes to watermelons?
-------------------- You've heard of the Sierra Madre Casino. We all have, the legend, the curses. Some foolishness about it lying in the middle of a City of Dead. A city of Ghosts. Beneath a blood-red cloud...a bright, shining monument reaching out, luring treasure hunters to their doom. An illusion. A promise that you can change your fortunes. Begin again.
Finding it, though, that's not the hard part. It's letting go. Yeah, I won't. I've already seen all the endings, and the only other thing that it has going for it is the slightly better character creator.
Though, I don't exactly like SC for the gameplay or story. I like it because of the characters. It's the only game I've played (besides Portal 2 and SSX) that I actually likes ALL the characters in. Sure, they're pretty switchable, but hey, that's just me. -------------------- You've heard of the Sierra Madre Casino. We all have, the legend, the curses. Thanks for the warning. I'll stay happily in denial that SC4 doesn't exist.

Oh, Namco, you just love your guest fighters, don't you?
In SC2 it was Heihachi, Spawn, and Link In SC4 it was Vader, Yoda, and that stupid cardboard cutout from The Force Within The psp version gave us Kratos So what you got for us this time? Namco hear's u liek Assassin's Creed ...yeah, I have pretty much zero interest in this game. SC2 was my fav, and 4 is kinda meh. I'm honestly not that interested in it, since there's almost never anything new and spectacular.

That's quite the relief to add a character from the Renaissance to a game that's supposedly in the same era. I guess the Templars want their dirty hands on the Soul Swords then?

Eh, the last good SC game was 2, with 1 being the best. Usually I'd say I won't buy it but know that I will but now since I don't have a consel I'm pretty sure I wont.

Enzio fits very well into the Soul Calibur universe. Certainly better than any other guest fighter they've had.
Unfortunately, this will not help the fact that Soul Calibur is shit now. -------------------- QUOTE (TigerEyes) Change is mandatory. It's progress that's optional. The character creation!
This honestly looks to be the best creation system yet. Soulcalibur V is no longer a fighting game to me. It is a dress-up game with a fighting minigame that unlocks more clothes. EDIT: Oh, and the most important thing. Clothes are no longer tied to character stats. Clothes are no longer tied to character stats. MY CREATIVE FREEDOM, I FEEL IT AGAIN.
