I know it's not the typical movies we usually talk about, but this one looks like it could be good.

This one is a definite must see for me.

Saw the Great Gatsby with the lady yesterday... I actually like it better than the book.

Has anyone seen The Evil Dead Remake?

--------------------
In a way, Bronies remind me of a herd of Triceratops forming a tight circle and pointing their horns outwards in a menacing way. There is one key difference, though; while the noble prehistoric animals did that to protect their offspring located in the middle of said circle, Bronies do it to “protect” the steaming pile of shit that is their “works”.

Hear my warnings, unbelievers, carried to your minds by the power of the Prince of Excess himself. We have raised altars in this land so that we may sacrifice you to our gods. Veterans of 10 millennia of unholy war wait to grind you beneath the tread of their mighty boots. The chosen of Khorne hunger to add you to their bloody tally. The Blood God Himself has marked this land and will claim your skulls for His throne! There is no hope in opposing the inevitable. Put down your arms, unbelievers, and bow before the forces of Chaos Undivided.

Thought for the Day: When you face defeat and consider surrendering to the trials the Emperor gives to you, remember the Commissar, and what he will do to your sorry ass if you even think about dropping that lasgun. Now that Bloodthirster won't look so scary anymore ...

Thought for the Day: There's a 99% chance that any army you're playing against is an Alpha Legion army in disguise. There's an equal chance that your army is one too.

Nope. Unless I hear great things about it, I'm probably not. Evil Dead without Bruce Campbell just wouldn't be the same.

He does make a cameo after the credits.

but that doesn`t justify the ticket price.
Have seen it and reall,y it is not great. The effects are pretty cool and disturbing in it and to its credit, the movie tries partly to do more on its own than copying Evil dead 1:1. The characters are (similiar to the ones in the first movie) not really all that much to remember (sorry, but as much as I like Bruce Campbell, his character of Ash really only got brilliant with the second installment) and overall... let me put it up like this: I don`t hate this movie, and it is one of the better horror/splatter remakes out there, but that also isn`t much of an achievement and it surely is not as efective as a horror movie than the original. If you manage to rent it or see it for "cheap", do it. But paying around 10 bucks or more to see it in theaters? Way too much.

Personally I hope when the sequel to this comes around, they keep the Deadites efficient rather then comical like Army of Darkness.

A couple of friends and I watched Brazil on a whim. I'd seen it once before but it had been a while so it was kind of fresh, though I don't remember my impressions from the first viewing being very positive.

Can't say we're fans of the movie. It's mostly a confusing mess of a story with cool art direction and cinematography on top. Some thematic elements were a bit clearer to me this time but most of the symbolism felt really tacky. I can see why Doug Walker considers it his favorite movie of all time because a) there's a ton of fedoras and trenchcoats in it, and b) the movie has an over-the-top theatricality to it that permeates most of Walker's stuff which I really can't stand.

Overall a dubm movie.

I saw The Lion In Winter (starring Peter O' Toole and Katherine Hepburn and featuring Anthony Hopkins and Timothy Dalton) about 2 weeks ago. That kicked ass. Great portrayal of royal family dysfunction.
