It's called lazy editing. It's comparable to the infamous scene in DBZ where Dende's brother is clearly showed getting blown up, but the villains are all "Nuts, he got away!"

Even so, I still don't see the reason why they changed his name if they were going to leave the smoke in. That picture's really funny, though... biggrin.gif

They even cut out Smoker mentioning his DF ability. :| That site you posted is pretty damn good, Dai, seems like they see everything they changed.

Alex's post pretty much summed up the answer to my question: they just add more smoke. Ugh.....

Oh yeah, and don't watch the recently-released-by-Kaizoku-Fansubs-OVA.

I did, just for the heck of it.

It was, um. Interesting. Pretty boring, and suckily animated (I'm talking style, not overall quality, which was actually pretty good), but it's nice for fans who want to be HARDCORE and say ''I saw EVERY One Piece related thing EVER''.

And hey, they didn't not translate ''nakama'' in the subtitles for the credits song! (I am nerd.)

Yeah the One Peice dub is so bizare. My friend was watching an episode during the Arlong Park arc and said that there was a conversation between Ussop and Nami that was never in the episode. He was going on about how they were talking about a rubber knife.

Although you guys have not heard the worst of dubbed fans, now I remind you that I am not responsible for any mental suffering you can and probably will sustain from this quote.

From a person at my table during lunch:

"Guys the dub is fine. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it. You are gay for watching japanese based anime, since you don't speak it. You need to watch some of the other stuff on the Foxbox. Although Zolo is the coolest character."

He proceded to tell my friend and I how stupid we were for calling Zoro, Zoro. Then he went on about how much the dub opening is great. Now my folder has a rather large dent in it.

Although I'm normally against anime "purists" who get upset with people who prefer the dubbed version of their favorite anime series, if someone says that then you have every right to beat the shit out of them. That kid is so lucky I don't know him, man... That folder you dented would have gone up his ass if I was there.

Also, welcome to the PA Forums, Arc! Finally decided to check the place out huh? wink.gif

Well in a convo with Shmeckie, I learned about this place. I kinda looked around and thought, well I should join.

Anywho, yeah he was lucky it was just a folder. The worst part is he can watch the sub. My friend and I have offered it to him many a time, but he refuses. Yeah, under normal circumstances I prefer the dub of most animes.

I bring TIDINGS.

First, I saw One Piece Movie 5 for the first time yesterday!

It sucked horribly. Don't watch it. Seriously. I think I fell asleep near the end. My head hurts. (Hint: The best part of the movie was doubtlessly Luffy and Usopp running around in a cave for minutes on end.)

But in actual manga news, a new chapter is out! My feelings can best be describe in fanboy language, so if you'll excuse me:

OH MY FUCKING GOD THAT WAS TOO AWESOME AND DEAR SWEET MOTHER IN HEAVEN THIS SERIES ROCKS

Okay, I'm done now. I'm off to reread. And reread. And reread again. And again. Leave it to Oda to put every single fight in every other series ever to shame with just a single panel. Then again, he did that countless times already.

Looks like it's time to join Dai in another One Piece fangasm...

I finally started watching the series again this weekend, re-watching episodes 171 and 172 to refamiliarize myself with the plot, then moving into brand new territory with 173-175. And once again, the series totally kicked my ass with its exceedingly high entertainment value. I had even forgotten how great the Luffy vs. Wiper battle was, which is probably one of the best fights in the series for its length. And it's great to see Nami and Robin actually doing something for a change.

I'll admit Skypiea was a bit of a letdown towards the beginning, but once the "survival game" starts, the arc really kicks off into Awesome Mode. Eneru is starting to establish himself as a very badass villain as well, which we all know is an important contribution to good One Piece watchin'.

I’ve read a volume of the manga my friend had
Volume 7 I think it was? Sanji and his past with the "Crap-geezer"?
It was actually really good
Unfortunately I heard of one piece first from the 4kids episodes
Seeing that we have fox here

I want to see some episodes so bad!

Heheheh, and meanwhile ol' Alex is kickin' back with this awesome HK subs, enjoying the superb audio and visual quality on his big-screen TV, never once laying eyes on the word nakama or baka...

Wasn't that Sanji's HK name? Skitles, or something like that.

It starts off as Sunkist for the first hundred or so epsiodes, and is later changed to Hanjis or something to that effect... What's weird is that most of the location names are actually translated pretty accurately, but the character's name are almost always way off.
