I will be cautiously optimistic. When Cartoon Network worked with Bandai to produce a second season of Big O, things worked out pretty well. Granted, it's a totally different situation, since FLCL ended almost 15 years ago and the ending episode left the series on a pretty good note.

The Big O was already set up for a second season, though, and was also much better written in general.
I'm not even sure why Adult Swim is banking on people wanting a sequel to a fifteen year old show. Audiences have changed pretty significantly since then, and I think they would've been better off investing in an entirely new show.

Pretty sure they're banking on people being nostalgic for FLCL.

It's been 15 years, plenty long enough for nostalgia to kick in

Well, if anything, the hubbub has got me interested in the first series, if only too see if it's as good or bad as they say.

For whatever reason, I didn't complete my thought process up there. Anyway, FLCL is up there with Cowboy Bebop and GitS with "anime that Adult Swim has kept consistently since the early 2000s and still plays to this day." Despite being 6 episodes and a very distinct contrast to the other two, it's got to be one of their most popular commodities since they bother to relicense it every time frame. And since there's no way in hell more will be added to Bebop without ruining it, this is their best shot at making more of something their audience apparently loves.

I don't know why, then, they haven't gotten GitS:Arise yet, but maybe that's in the near future.

PErhas the show will get the release schedule of Rebuild of Evangelion.
So at least we have a decade to prepare ourselves

I heard the animators of FLCL were involved in Kill Bill. Is that true?
